立命館大学で練習／部内戦 Practice in BKC / Ranking Matches

今日は上位８名が立命館大学びわこ・くさつキャンパス(BKC)で大学の体育会硬式庭球部の練習に参加させていただいた。技術的にも体力的にも大きく上回る大学生の練習に参加することは、高校生にとって非常に収穫の多いものとなった。普段は体験することのできないレベルの高い緊張感のある雰囲気の中で練習することで、技術的にも体力的にも自分たちに欠けているものをたくさん体感することができた。また、練習をすべて自分たちだけで運営する大学生の自立した姿から高校生が学ぶことができることが多くあった。この経験を生かして、高校生にはより自立・自律のある思考・行動・プレーを期待したい。現在体育会で頑張っている本校テニス部卒業生は北野だけとなっているが、この春から昨日卒部した市川が入部することになっている。大学の体育会は高校とはレベルも高く別の意味で厳しい環境ではあるが、テニス選手としてだけでなく人としても大きく成長できる場所である。頑張ってチームの中心選手として活躍してほしい。今後もこのように大学のテニス部の協力を受けて、練習に参加させていただいたり、試合をさせていただく機会を持つことで、高校・大学テニス部の関係を強化していきたい。また、このような機会を通して、より多くの本校テニス部員が大学テニス部に興味を持ってほしい。改修工事と悪天候で使えるコート数が限られる中、練習メニューを変更して、丁寧に高校生の面倒を見ていただいた大学生に感謝したい。今後ともよろしくお願いします。

学校では大学での練習に参加しなかった高校生部員と中学生部員で初の中高合同部内戦を行い、その結果を受けて、初の中高混ぜてのランキングを作成した。高校生にとって年下の選手と試合をする機会は少なく、負けられないというプレッシャーもあるので、中学生と試合をすることは簡単ではない。中学生に負けてしまう試合もいくつかあったが、難しい状況でプレーをするよい経験となるので、今後も継続していきたい。多くの中学生部員にとってはほとんど試合経験がない中での試合となったが、試合を追うごとにプレーがよくなった選手が多かった。今日の試合を通して練習だけでは気づくことのできない多くの課題を発見することができた。まだまだ基本的なショットが見に付いていない中学生にとっては、基本を大切にして、じっくり一つ一つのショットに取り組んでもらいたい。今日のように高校生という目標がある中での練習環境を生かして、さらに上を目指してほしい。高校生にとっても年下の選手を試合をすることは得るものが多いので、負けた選手には次の機会での雪辱に期待したい。以下は試合後の新しいランキングである。今回から上位２０人のみ紹介する。

The top half ( eight members ) of the high school team visited Biwako-Kusatsu Campus of Ritsumeikan University to join the university tennis team's practice.  It was a great opportunity for the boys as they could learn many things from practicing with the university students, who are far superior to the high school boys in skills, power and everything.  There were many lessons that the boys could make use of back at home.  The atmosphere of the practice is very different from that of the high school team's.  It's more serious but relaxed.  In other words, the university students know when to get focused and relaxed.  Watching the practice from outside, I could see a lot of differences between the university students and high school students in skills, movements and attitude.  Playing with those with better skills, the boys could see their weaknesses to work on more clearly than when they practice within themselves.  Among the lessons the boys could take home with them is the university students' independence and ability to contol themselves.  Of course, they can act that way partly because they are more mature, but  the high school boys can follow them as their role-models.   I really want to thank the university students for taking their time to help out the high school boys, especially in the difficult situation where only a few courts could be used due to the court repair-work and bad weather-conditions.  Having this kind of experience should help strengthen the tie between the university and high school tennis teams.  I hope that we will continue to improve our relationships through this kind of joint events.  

Back in high school, the high school boys who didn't go to the university had ranking matches.  Some of the junior high members also participated.  This was the first time for the high school and junior high school teams to play matches together.  After today's matches, we compiled a ranking list that included the junior high boys.  Some of the high school members lost to junior high boys.  Obviously, it's not easy to play agaisnt someone younger than you as it gives you extra pressure and such a situation makes it difficult for you to play at your normal level.  Even considering the situation, the high school boys shouldn't have lost to junior high boys.  I hope they will revenge their losses next time.   For the junior high boys, to be able to play against high school boys is a great experience.  It helps them experience more competitive matches and to have more people above them gives them more targets.  They couldn't ask for a better opportunity.  All that matter is whether or not they take full advantage of their chance.  The above list is the new ranking list, which shows only the top 20 boys.
