インターハイ予選ダブルス１次予選

インターハイ京都府予選のダブルス１次予選が行われた。本校男子テニス部からは９組が予選に出場し、内４組が予選を勝ち上がり本戦への出場を決めた。どのペアも本戦への道のりは険しく、タイブレークを含めブロック決勝どの試合もは接戦となった。その中でも気持ちを強く持ち、大事なところで踏ん張り、接戦をものにし本戦進出を決めることができた。予選を勝ち上がった８人のうち６人が３年生と彼らの最後の大会へかける思いが強く伝わってくる結果となった。高体連の大会で初めて予選を勝ち上がった選手もいた。そんな中、今日の試合で力が出し切れず敗れてしまった選手もいたが、明後日行われるシングルスの予選で悔しさを晴らしてほしい。本番の試合は技術うんぬんよりも、大事な場面でいかに自分を律し、強気のプレーをすることができるかというメンタルの部分の大きさを痛感した試合が多かった。本校会場では中学生も高校生の応援に加わり、彼らの応援も先輩たちの大きな力となり勝利へつながった。シングルスの予選ではダブルスの結果を上回るような結果を期待したい。

The qualifying round of doubles took place today.  Nine pairs took part and four of them qualified for the main draw.  Most of the boys who have reached the main draw are third-years.  It shows how badly they want to win in their final tournament.  One of them reached the main draw of a "Kotairen" tournament for the first time.  Today's results show the mental growth of the third-year boys.  I hope they will continue to bring us goood results in their singles competition, which takes place on Tuesday.  I especially hope that those who couldn't play well today will revenge their doubles losses in their singles matches.
