履正社高校と練習試合 Practice Matches

今日は大阪・履正社高等学校まで伺い練習試合をさせていただいた。履正社高校テニス部の選手たちははとても真面目な雰囲気で規律がしっかりしており、よい緊張感の中、試合行うことができた。内容は相手のパワーに押される部分が多く、自分たちでコントロールすることができるポイントが少なく、大きく負け越してしまった。相手のミスによってしか奪えないポイントがほとんどで、この間言われ続けている自分から展開しポイントを奪う形を実践することがあまりできなかった。ボールに対する反応を改善することとと切れのある動きを身につけること大きな課題である。トレーニングを通してこれらの課題に取り組んでいきたい。また、大事な場面での単純なミスもまだ多い。練習の中で試合の緊張感を想定してプレーしていくことが必要である。明日から京都ジュニアの予選が始まる。２年生にとっては最後のジュニアの大会となるので悔いのないプレーで全員が本戦に進出してほしい。

本校テニスコートでは午後から中学男子テニス部が立命館守山中学校男子テニス部に来ていただき練習試合を行った。中学生テニス部員にとっては数少ない練習試合の機会なので１試合１試合学ぶことがたくさんあったはずである。前回立命館守山中学と練習試合をしたときよりも勝つ試合も増え、練習の成果は確実に出てきている。まだまだ技術的にも体力的にも未熟な部分が多いが、今回の練習試合をきっかけにテニスに対するを意識をさらに高め、さらなる努力をしてほしい。

明日は終業式があり、春休み前最後の登校日である。春休みを迎えるにあたってしっかりと締めくくってほしい。

The high school team had practice matches with Riseisha High School in Riseisha while the junior high school team had practice mathces with Ritsumeikan Moriyama Junior High School at home.  The high school boys lost many matches.  They couldn't handle their opponents' power and let them dictate most of the points.  As a result, most of the time, they had to wait for their opponents to make errors.  Their lack of speed and power gave their opponents time to set up and  go for their shots.  There were few points where the boys could control ralllies and go for winners.  They got more and more used to the speed and power of their opponents as they played more matches, though.  It was a good chance for them to find out what they need to work on from now on.  The Kyoto Junior tournament is going to start tomorrow.  This is the last junior tournament for the second-year boys.  I hope they will all qualify for the main draw. 

 The junior high team had practice matches with Ritsumeikan Moriyama for the second time in half a year.  Compared to the last time, they were able to win more matches.  There were many encourging signs in their performances.  There are still many shots they can't hit.  They must spend a lot of time working on basic skills, but playing these mathces surely gave them extra motivation to work harder.  I hope the junior high boys will make the most of what they learned through their matches from tomorrow.
