京都ジュニア本戦③ Kyoto Junior Main Draw Day 3
１８歳以下男子シングルスの２回戦の続きからが行われた。昨日の１回戦を勝ち上がった６人が出場した。今日も同士討ちとなった試合が２試合あった。敗れた試合は全て上位選手への敗戦となったが、以前に比べると格上の選手に対して打ち負けない場面が増えたことが大きな収穫である。しかし普段の練習の相手に通用しているショットが、上位の選手相手には全く通用しないということを痛感させられた試合も多かった。早く準備したり、もっと早く展開していくなど、練習の中から強い相手を意識していく必要がある。今回の京都ジュニアで見つけた自信・課題を約１カ月後のインターハイ予選で生かし、よりよい成績を残してほしい。高校２年生（明日からは３年生）にとっては現役最後の試合となるので、悔いが残らないように大会までの時間を全力で練習し、試合では自分が今まで培ってきたものを全て発揮してほしい。
学校では昼から京都両洋高等学校に来ていただき練習試合を行った。まだまだ相手のミスによってしかポイントが奪えていない試合が多く、自分から打っていきポイントを奪うテニスができていない。試合の結果が相手の良し悪しで決まっていることが多く、今後戦績を伸ばしていくためには、この課題を克服することが不可欠である。
明日は昼から莵道高等学校に来ていただき練習試合を行う。新３年生にとっては残り数少ない練習試合の機会である。１試合１試合を全力でプレーし勝利してほしい。

１回戦敗退：山根、坂下(森下に敗退)、大東、中家
The main draw matches of the 18 or under singles continued today. The six boys who reached the second round played. There were two matches where they played against each other. Other than that, they all lost to seeded players. Three of them lost in the third round and two lost in the fourth round. Many of them got their best results in a junior tournament. However, when it comes to playing against better players, they lack shots that can cause them trouble. They need to improve their skills ans physical abilities to match up to those seeded boys. In about one month, there is the prefectual preliminary round of the Inter High school Championships. This will be the very last tournamnet for the second ( third from tomorrow ) year boys. There is a very little time left for them. They must use the remaining time the best way they can to prepare for it.
Meanwhile, we had the Ryoyo High School tennis team over in our school for practice matches. Many boys are still struggling with the same problem, which is that they let their opponents control more points. They often let their opponents decide the outcome of their matches. They need to be able to dictate more points to have more control of the results.
Tomorrow, we're going to have practice matches with the Todo High School tennis team. This will be one of the few remainging match opportunities for the "new" third-year boys. I hope they will make the best of it.
