京都ジュニア予選④ Kyoto Junior Qualifying Round Day 4

雨で延期になっていた１８歳以下男子ダブルスの予選が行われ、本校男子テニス部からは２ペア(迫・志水、中家・大本）が予選に出場し２ペアともに予選を勝ち上がり本戦に出場を決めた。この結果を受け、本戦から出場の５ペアを含み、１８歳以下男子ダブルスにエントリーした７ペア全てが本戦に出場することになった。ジュニアの大会のダブルスに出場したペアが全て本戦に進出するのは初めてのことである。明日太陽が丘テニスコートにて１８歳以下のダブルスの本戦が行われるが、この勢いを生かして本戦でもよい結果を残してほしい。応援よろしくお願いします！

Two pairs from the high school tennis team took part in the qualifying round of the 18 or under doubles.  Both pairs won their qualifying matches and reached the main draw.  As a result, all seven pairs from the high school boys' tennis team who entered the tournament have reached the main draw.  This has never happened before.  I hope the boys will keep the momentum into the main draw matches, which will take place in Taiyogaoka tomorrow.

P.S. ソニーオープンの準決勝を戦うことになっていた錦織圭選手はケガのためにジョコビッチ選手との準決勝を棄権しました。残念ですが早くケガを直して次の大会に期待したいです。

P.S. Kei Nishikori had to withdraw from the semifinal match against Novak Djokovic due to a groin injury.  It's disappointing but I hope that he will make a quick recovery from the injury and do well in his next tournament.
